Job Description:

Our Social & Analytical Solutions Group is growing and we re currently seeking an Implementation Facilitator/Senior Technical Specialist for our Health, Research, Informatics and Technology Division, in our Public Health Informatics and Technology Line of Business in Rockville, MD.

Our client, Department of Defense (DoD), Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE), provides national leadership in providing clinical and behavioral services for members of the US armed forces being deployed. The PHCoE supports servicemen and women who need these support due to traumatic brain injury, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and many other conditions. The purpose of these activities is to provide psychological health interdisciplinary support services. Specifically, it provides psychological health performance and analytics support, psychological health research support, psychological health promotion support, primary care behavioral health support, psychological health clinical care support, program management support, public affairs support, strategic planning support, and administration and operations support:

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation Facilitator will be stationed at PHCoE, Clinical Care Branch. The duties include the following:

  • Independently prepare for the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based methodologies and interventions that can be implemented at an enterprise level related to psychological health promotion.

  • Disseminate reports and briefings for program management, on research conducted that resulted in evidence based interventions, as well as DHA and other military leadership on evidence-based interventions that can be adopted and implemented.

  • Disseminate implementation guides for evidence-based interventions, and ensure work with clinicians on the training and the implementation and evaluation of interventions.

  • Collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with insight on applications from the outpatient setting.

  • Create based on best practices, DoD level substance misuse curriculum that enhances the military s ability to promote a ready, resilient and lethal service member.

  • Deploy implementation guides for evidence-based interventions, and ensure work with clinicians on the training and the implementation and evaluation of interventions.

  • Gather process and outcome data and report on outcomes on the implementation of evidence-based interventions across outpatient clinics (both primary and specialty care).

  • Perform research on the effectiveness of interventions and propose changes to intervention structure based on evaluation outcomes and additional literature.

  • Lead tasks applying and citing evidence-based practices from the literature along with practical experiences (e.g. from a military setting).

  • Critically assess DoD and DHA level reports across many healthcare domains such as substance misuse, demand access in the outpatient setting, use of Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) in primary care, deployment policy as it relates to opioid addiction.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology or Program Implementation

  • Military or military health experience

  • 8 years of experience in disseminating research findings and implementing evidence-based interventions, including turning research into practice

  • Experience in implementation in the military treatment facility (MTF) setting

  • Demonstrates strong analytical/critical thinking, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • At least one year working in Federal/Military setting and experience with early intervention services

Professional Skills:

  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a diverse team of mental health professionals.

  • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills; experience with written and oral presentation of data, ability to interact professionally active duty military staff and clients.

  • Excellent organizational skills, commitment to treating individuals with complex physiological and emotional conditions.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, fast learner, meticulous, and able to work at a fast-pace with tight deadlines.
